The topic of mental health has been on the rise for some time now. And let’s get something straight, we are very happy about that – just because people weren’t talking about it before didn’t mean it wasn’t there!

However, 2020 has brought a whole new layer of complexity to everyone’s lives and people who had potentially never suffered from mental health issues before, are now saying; “I need help here!” The good news is, there are a few things we can all do to make a difference.

LOOK OUT FOR THE SIGNS

Starting to struggle with your sleep? Eating more or less? Getting irritable?

Learn to recognise when your mental health is on the decline, so you can do something about it before you start to lose control.

KNOW THE TRIGGERS

Is it lack of exercise that sets you on a downward spiral? Increasing workload? Not enough interaction with friends and family? Feelings of isolation play a huge part in declining mental health.

Try keeping a journal of your thought patterns, and you’ll soon recognise your triggers based on what is happening in your external environment.
